Made a last minute change of camping plans but want to go to a star party still. It was nice. Having a kitchen could be a lifesaver if you're coming back late. Most restaurants close around 9pm and the star party went past that, for example. We heated some of our camping food haha. It's a shared kitchen so don't be all loud. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot. The only thing I would caution is that some rooms may be a bit cold in the winter. It was fine for us, and the space heater worked fine, but I could see it being a surprise for some. I think what pushes this into five stars for me past like a 4.5 is the vibe. The shared kitchen and living room area was really nice in the morning when I made coffee. During busier times, I could see hanging out with other guest and what not. It was a really nice space that someone clearly cares about.

I was on a trip with my sister and spent very little time in the room and just wanted a good place to crash after a long day of hiking followed by perhaps a star party. The room was clean, had a mini fridge and microwave. The room was clean, the bed the comfortable and the bathroom was a good bathroom. It was everything I wanted in room and a good location to walk around town and had great views outside my room (the room was not promised a view but did have an alley way that was seemly all for us to park in, we stayed in the hideout room). Overall I was very pleased and would look to stay here again next chance I get to visit.

The location was great. We had great views of sleeping lion mountain. It was set back in a quiet neighborhood yet we were in walking distance of downtown and all the shops and restaurants. The bed was comfortable and having a full kitchen was a plus for the option of staying in for a nice cozy meal. There was plenty of room to park,I pulled a trailer and had plenty of room to turn around. So if you have an RV there will be no issues. To sum it up,we had an excellent experience and will stay no other place but here on our return.

My partner and I stayed here for a single night during a longer road trip so we could attend a star party at the nearby McDonald Observatory. The Hideaway Room was a lovely room, exactly what we needed after a long drive. We were thrilled with the easy check-in process - the Inn staff texted instructions on the morning of our stay, and everything went super smoothly. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and we loved the view of the mountains from the porch. We would definitely recommend the Mountainside Inn for anyone traveling to or through Fort Davis!

This Inn was exactly what we were looking for while travelling through Texas. The communication via txt prior to checking in, explaining the process as well as checking out was exceptional. The room was clean and had plenty of space for our family of five. The location was close to all the amenities of Fort Davis. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved the location, close to everything. The view of the mountains in the backyard was amazing. We especially enjoyed the goats peeking out from the rocks. The bed was so comfortable with soft sheets. We would definitely stay here again!

The room was amazing, so cozy, so clean and things placed so well that every need was met. Thoughtfulness on lighting upon arrival was so appreciated. Detailed instructions before arrival, during stay and departure was very helpful and efficient since it was sent through text message and email rather than only email. Very helpful to have that information immediately and clearly depicted. I loved how homey the set up was. The rooms you book are private and your own personal space. Locks key and all. The kitchen, dining room, living room, and mud room extension is open to all guests. Lovely really. Makes for the most comfortable cozy feel to interact with other guests. My kids loved this experience and took the time to take pictures because they wanted to come back. Their(and my) only issue was the food accommodations. The food was beautifully set out for all guests to enjoy in the kitchen area. This was something we admired when we arrived. We were mindful that we were sharing this space. We decided to wait until after our Observatory event to enjoy the treats left for guests, however the “other” guests took all the food set out, specifically the blueberry muffins my kids apparently had been eyeing. Maybe a note to other guest to “share” might help this. But truly that’s a small issue since everything else was absolutely amazing!! (I would have no complaints had my kids not mentioned the missing muffins that they apparently had set their minds to, but I promised I would mention it in the review) We will be coming back to this place absolutely and indefinitely! The baskets in the refrigerator has your room number. This was well thought out.

This property is beautiful and is nestled up in between these spectacular canyons — Quaint, Quiet, Clean — I stayed in the hideaway with my girlfriend, it was a romantic quite getaway for us! Room is cute week decorated and has everything you need. Comfy bed, grill, awesome patio with seating, walk in shower, games table, cool decor! Definitely reccomend.
